Understanding how skin's admirable permeability barrier is vulnerable to penetration by air pollutants generated from fossil fuel combustion, promoting skin diseases, like atopic dermatitis, and skin aging. 2. Learning how climate change will expand the current epidemic of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. 3. Recognizing the central role skin plays in protecting from heat stress and what "skin failures" make some people more vulnerable to heat related illnesses.
